NLNG hands over 107 entries for 2022 Nigeria Prize for Science to advisory board, panel of judges

WorldStage Newsonline– The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), sponsors of the 2022 Nigeria Prize for Science, Literature and Literary Criticism on Thursday in Lagos handed over 107 entries for the Nigeria prize for science to the advisory board and panel of judges.

The entries were handed over to the panel of judges to sort out those who meet the requirement of the Nigeria prize for science.

The Nigeria Prize for Science celebrates excellence in scientific breakthroughs and honours scientists from anywhere in the world who help find solutions to a local or ‘Nigerian’ problem as defined and advertised by the Advisory board.

In her welcome remarks, the Acting Manager Communications And Public Affairs, Mrs. Anne- Marie Palmer-Ikuku , who represented the General Manager External Relations And Sustainable Development of the NLNG, Mr. Andy Odeh, said the Nigeria prize for science , literature and literary criticism will always remain the organizations flagship CSR initiative to help build a better Nigeria.

Mrs. Palmer- Ikuku stated that the Nigeria prize for science was put on hold and revamped after the drought of 2011 and 2012 where no winner was recorded which opened the prize to scientists anywhere in the world who could find solutions to Local problems.

On his part, the Chairman of the Advisory board for the Nigeria prize for science, Mr. Barth  Nnaji, stated that beyond the prize, the board would like to see the impact of the solution the prize for science brings bearing in mind this year’s theme ” innovations in sustainable food security”.

The Chairman, panel of judges for the Nigeria prize for science, professor Christian Ugwu- agbo, expressed gratitude to the sponsors and advisory board for finding the panel worthy of serving the nation and promised to showcase integrity while carrying out their duties.

The 107 entries of the Nigeria prize for science were handed electronically from the sponsors to the advisory board and panel of judges.
