Jumia records 120.1m EUR loss in 2017 despite 41.8% sales growth

WorldStage Newsonline– Jumia, the leading online eCommerce ecosystem in Africa on Tuesday announced its financial results for the  fourth quarter ended December 31, 2017 and for the full year 2017, with Adjusted EBITDA standing at a negative 120.1 million EUR for the full year despite Gross merchandise volume (GMV) increase of 41,8 % year over year from 357.5 million EUR in 2016 to 507million EUR.

Nigeria: Group laments threat to N420b investment, 250, 000 jobs by new duty on alcohol, tobacco, threaten legal action

WorldStage Newsonline– A Coalition of Non-Governmental Organisations; Business Renaissance Group (BRG) and Sustained Development Collective (SDC) has raised an alarm over the recent upward review of excise duty on locally produced alcoholic beverages and tobacco,saying it could endanger  250, 000 jobs and an investment  portfolio of about N420 billion.
